Since 2010, when Envision Credit Union and Valley First Credit Union merged to form First West, we have continued to transform our business to help simplify the lives of members. Through mobile and digital technology advancements, we have introduced new banking options and enhanced our ability to provide personalized, expert financial advice to our members.

Delivering expert advice and support

Our Member Advice Centre has responded to more than one million calls since it was first launched in 2014, providing access and support to members wherever they are.

Constant vigilance to protect members

The financial security of members will always be our first priority. In 2021 we introduced two-step verification to add yet another layer of online security for members and held free fraud prevention and cybersecurity seminars.

Advancing digital banking

In 2021 we continued to make it easier for members to bank and get expert advice online. From a refreshed mobile banking app to a new online member application, we’re always working to improve our members’ digital experience.

Elevating digital banking technologies

Our AI-powered digital assistant, Finley, has been helping members get product and service information easily since 2020. Finley has more than 700 answers and is getting smarter by the day.

Elevating online and mobile banking through innovative technology

In 2019 First West became the first credit union in Canada to release a brand-new mobile app, online banking portal and public website using the Forge Digital Banking Platform. This superior digital experience made it simpler, more intuitive and efficient for members to interact with us.
