Barry Delaney

As First West’s senior vice-president, lines of business strategy, Barry Delaney is responsible for growing the credit union’s wealth management, insurance and automotive lines of business through the development of new products, structures and sales strategies.

Barry joined Envision Financial at an executive level in 1997 after 10 years in senior leadership positions at CIBC and Household Financial Corporation. His accomplishments include leading the merger integration teams during Envision’s first merger in 2001, managing the development of Envision’s successful Redfrog mortgage product and creating Envision’s highly profitable leasing business and Risk Services department. Barry holds an MBA from Queens University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary. In addition to his experience in financial services, Barry worked for one year in Denmark at the LEGO toy company—the only professional achievement of which Barry’s children are proud. He is also a retired commissioned officer in the Canadian Forces Reserves.

A strong supporter of international development through the Canadian Cooperative Association (CCA), Barry has traveled on assignment to South East Asia and Africa twice, where he’s provided technical assistance to credit unions in Malawi and Ghana. Barry serves on the board of the CCA and is board chair for the University of the Fraser Valley Foundation. He also serves on the Providence Health Care Board committee and chairs the Langley Homeless Shelter taskforce.
